NOISE CONTROL

When does sound become noise and when do you need sound proofing?

When it becomes undesirable such as when you want to rest or concentrate on work. Even the most popular sounds become noise when it does not allow a person to rest or concentrate on their desired activity. Often apartment residents complain about noise from neighboring apartments. In order to ensure good sound insulation between these residences, the building must be designed with acoustic insulation in mind, i.e. the structure of its internal and external partitions must be chosen to ensure the acoustical comfort class of the building.

Why do you need adequate noise protection?

FOR DESIGNERS: It is essential during the design stage of the building that the correct technical solutions guarantee the very best acoustic solutions with minimal cost. It is for this reason that utilising consultants on acoustic solutions will not only save money for the customer, but will also ensure the reputation of the designer after the design stage. More about the services provided to designers can be found under "Services" section on this website.

IN CONSTRUCTION: Builders can deliberately or inadvertently make mistakes when putting in a dividing wall - even when the design and planning is correct. The same can happen during the planning phase and can also be a very costly fix. It is therefore advisable to consult an acoustic specialist at the beginning of the work so that there is no problem in the final stage of the building's delivery – whilst also saving nerves and money.

FOR END USERS: When acoustically suitable solutions can not be achieved through design or construction, then the eventual owner of the building has to pay the heavier costs. In the first instance, it is necessary to identify the gaps and only then they can be liquidated, corrected or otherwise resolved. It is precisely at this point that the acoustic expert correctly identifies the existing deficiencies and the possibilities for their elimination.
